A few conversations with the Laney Bug

(talking about Halloween)

Mom: what are you going to say when we get to a house to get candy?

Laney: Mom, I’m going to tell them to share.

------------------------------------------------------------

A few weeks ago she told me to “shut up and calm down”. ( I let her survive since both Ryan and I tell the dogs to shut up- but, trust me I had to count to 10 a few times). Since then she will randomly tell me “Mom, we don’t say shut up right?!)  So….

yesterday in the grocery store, I told her that if she couldn’t sit nicely I’d buckle her in. Her response?

“Mom,.you just need to calm down and not say shut up.

Hmm, not sure she grasped the lesson in this one.

-------------------------------------------------------------

And a variation of pretty every conversation we have;

Laney: Where’s the sun

Mom: taking a nap

Laney: why?

Mom: it’s tired

Laney: Why?

Mom: it had to work hard to light the world today

Laney: Why?

Mom: ummm… cause I said so Laney.

8 Months

DSCN1067 DSCN1075

My little man is already 8 months old! I had to take some diaper pictures- he is such a little chubster! He has really changed a lot this month- starting to crawl, pulling up and getting teeth! He will pull up on anything- from a chair, to his sister and even the toilet a few times. We’ve already had to lower his crib- I REALLY hope he hold off on walking for a little while.

A few quick things about him now-

* He has his two bottom teeth in and is really working on a top one

* He thinks Delaney is hilarious- and is always trying to “play” with her.

* He is generally pretty happy- and will sleep- when his sister lets him!

* According to my scale at home he weighs 22lbs!

* He eats baby food- but still refuses a bottle, stinker!

Pretty cute little guy- I think we’ll keep him!

GO COUGS !!

Okay- Last post for today- promise!

We finally got it together to make it to a coug game this year! I’m so glad we did- we didn’t win (no surprise there) but it was still fun to go back and relive the glory days a little! It was beautiful there- I especially love fall in Pullman, it’s still the only place other than here that I’d be willing to live. The kids were pretty good, Laney especially had a good time! Go Cougs!

On our way back to the car- they were pretty worn out little cougs!

Odds and Ends…

I had a bunch of pictures that didn’t seem to belong anywhere else, so this is a little bit of this and a little bit of that…

My boys! Are they handsome or what?? I play bunco one night a month and when I got home this is how I found them.

Our neighbors were having one of their trees trimmed and Laney wanted to watch… sitting in Colton’s bumbo. Silly little girl.

Painting pumpkins- actually painting anything is cool right now… but I’m running out of ideas of things to paint. Apparently paper is too pedestrian for my little princess!

I made Delaney this little vest and wanted a picture of her in it… this is what I got. She wears the vest all the time but was NOT into taking a picture!

In addition to Dance, Laney’s been taking a gymnastics class one day a week with Park and Rec. She LOVES it- and it s-l-o-w-l-y figuring out how to wait in line and pay attention to the teacher! :)

… And more family play. She has loaded up all her animal families and is going “shopping”. She cracks me up!

Public Service Announcement

I have been using Windows Live Writer to post on my blog and it is AMAZING! It takes way less time to get pictures on and organized and has spell check… it’s free to download. Might be worth a try!

Pumpkin Patch 2010

Sunday we went to the pumpkin patch here in Hermiston and picked out our pumpkins. I have to admit this is one of my favorite activities of the year. I love the fall weather and watching Laney and her daddy have in depth conversations about the merits of pumpkins. Just like everything else, The Laney Bug had to pick out a pumpkin family this year, complete with a Mommy, Daddy, Big Sister and Baby “punkin”.

When I Grow Bigger

Delaney Wieseler, 3, visitor, guest, permission for use given by mom Amy Wieseler, wieselal@yahoo.com

“Mommy, when I grow bigger, I’m going to ride a Giraffe…”

I hear this atleast once a day!

( I should mention that I don’t get credit for this picture, the Zoo’s photographer took this and asked later if he could us it in some of their promo stuff later. He just e-mailed it to me this morning- cute huh?)

Milestones

We’ve had some milestones go by lately…

This little guy’s mastered crawling- I’m not in love with it, now I’ll have to baby proof EVERYTHING again. But he thinks he’s pretty cool!

My little Binkie Baby finally had to give up her bink. She has loved that thing since she was teeny tiny. We had her down to just using at night but Doctor Daddy finally had enough and took it away ( I would’ve let her have it forever-she’s gonna need braces no matter what).  We told her that the Binky Fairy took them to little babies who needed them but she’s not buying it. The first day she even made a break for the mailbox to retrieve them (she beat me to the door and was out on the sidewalk before I caught her!). It’s been rough, hopefully the second week goes better than the first!

And the last one is about me- I finally broke down and bought a new sewing machine! It came in the mail Friday and I’ve only had a little bit of time to play with it but so far so good! I’m pretty excited to really figure it out and start to do some new things…

So Sweet

There are a lot of days that I miss my old job, my freedom, even my old life. The days where I could accomplish something, read, go pee by myself… you know. The days before kids….

But tonight, I went into Delaney’s room to kiss her and say prayers and she sat up in bed, gave me a big hug and said, “Mommy, I yuve you so much. You sing itsy bitsy spider with me?”

Ahhh, so worth it.

Something tells me that there will be a time again when I have some freedom and get to use the restroom solo, and I’ll look back and miss this.
