The Seattle Aquarium

Here are some more pictures from our little trip to Seattle. Monday we went to the aquarium, which is always fun. Going to an aquarium with Ryan is like getting a guided tour- he knows everything about everything there. Laney, of course, loved it. She touched everything in the touch tank and remembered most of the names of the fishes ( she especially likes the lion fish and the puffers ).

A funny Laney story- right now she’s very into families- everything has to have a mommy and a daddy and a baby. While we were at the water park I told her she had some money to pick out a toy. She found a little stuffed wolf that she wanted but refused to buy it because it needed its mommy (a larger stuffed wolf). When I told her that she didn’t have enough money for both she refused to get the baby and insisted on putting the entire wolf family to bed together before we left the store. So… at the aquarium she found a little stuffed seal that had a baby with it. She is in LOVE. I don’t think I’ve ever seen her really love a toy so much. It hasn’t left her side since! Silly girl!

Great Wolf Lodge

Ryan had the week off so we decided to get away while we had the chance! We spend Friday and Saturday at Great Wolf Lodge south of Seattle. I have to admit I was skeptical but it turned out to be a great time! I would definately go back- Delaney was in heaven. Ryan said that it was like a casino for kids and I think he was right- it is a huge indoor water park but the hotel is all about the kids- there is a "show" in the lobby, story time, an arcade and a thousand other things for kids. Laney was in awe... here are some pictures. (In no particular order)

Laney and her dad on the Big water slide- she went down it by herself a couple of times but I don't think she loved it! Too big- even for my little dare devil.

She loved these water skis- you could hold down a handle and spray other kids/people with water. (by the way- see the guy in the background? He has bigger boobs than I do! Yikes- put on a shirt!)

This was her favorite- she must have gone down the "purple slide" a hundred times.

This is a picture of the water park I found online- it had so much- slides, kiddo pools, a wave pool- Literally everything!

This was the show in the lobby- Delaney LOVED it- we had to go twice in two days!

6 Months

Colton had his 6 month well-baby check up yesterday. He weighed 19 lbs 5 oz (85th%) was 70 cm long (95%) and his head was a normal 44.6 cm. Poor little guy has a cold but they still gave him his shots (5 all together) and now today he is as miserable as I've ever seen him. It breaks my heart- I wish I would've told them to wait on the shots. :(

He's getting so big- at 6 months he's already in 12 month clothing and is just a chubby little thing. He is a ham and a terrible flirt, but still thinks that his momma is the only one in the world who can feed him or put him to sleep! His is moving everywhere and is getting up and rocking on all fours so I have no doubt that crawling is right around the corner!

Finally got around to getting Delaney's 3 year old pictures and Colton's 6 month pictures taken- I know there's a lot of pictures so if we're not related you might want to skip this one.... A BIG thanks to my mom for coming and helping- it made it a lot easier!

Priest Lake 2010

We just got back from our annual trip to Priest Lake with my family. It was so much fun- I LOVE that place and I LOVE getting to take my little family there. Here are A LOT of pictures from our week- the weather was beautiful! We got to see Uncle Andrew and Jessica for the first time in over 6 months- it went by so quickly! We spent hours on the beach, boating, fishing, eating, and playing cards. It was the perfect week!

Colton loved the boat, for about 2 minutes, then he fell asleep. Everytime!

Laney was in heaving on the beach and in the water- it was the first thing she wanted to do each morning and the last thing she wanted to do at night!

I was worried that the water would be too cold for Colton but he loved it- he started kicking his chubby legs and smiling the minute his toes hit the water. He loved splashing and playing in the sand- but I had a terrible time trying to keep him from eating the sand!

This was another of Delaney's favorite activities- having Grampa haul her around in the ski bob. Dad must've made 100 trips back and forth on the shore line taking her for a ride.

The Hermiston Fair and Rodeo

Last week was the Hermiston fair and Rodeo- Laney was in heaven! We went to the rodeo a couple of nights and wandered around the fair a day. She LOVED looking at all the animals and playing with her cousins. Colton was a different story- it was too hot for him and that combined with teething made for a cranky baby! We were in the bunny barn and Ryan told this little girl that he was a dentist so she would show us her rabbits teeth- I think that Laney liked the bunnies the best- we had to go back a couple of times!

Poor little hot blooded baby- he really needs his own air conditioning system with all that chub!
