The Oregon Coast

For Memorial weekend Ryan and I decided to get away. Luckily I was able to find a place to stay at the last minute so we took off Thursday night and made it to Portland. Friday morning we went to the zoo (along with a few thousand elementary school’s.. ugh) But it was beautiful weather and the kids had a blast.

They fought over tractor driving privileges.

Then we drove down the coast and arrived in Newport in time to get settled and check out the view of the lighthouse from our condo.

We spent the rest of the weekend on the beach, building sandcastles, flying kites, checking out tide pools and sticking our toes in the sand. It was the most wonderful weekend, just taking it easy and hanging out together!

We also made it to the Aquarium, which was amazing! Colton was enthralled with the tube ‘o sharks and Delaney had to be pried away from the touch tanks.

So fun!

Last Day Of Preschool

The last day of preschool had come and gone, and I’m left wondering how in the world I’m going to keep this little girlie entertained all summer!

After the last day of school, some of the mom’s and kids from school went out to lunch and them bowling. Delaney was in heaven, and since Ryan had Colt, I was able to spend some special girl time with her!

She had a great time, and has asked to go bowling every day since!

Sprinklers

We’ve had some beautiful days lately and after dinner last night I decided to turn the sprinkler on for the first time this season. Laney was in heaven but Colton wasn’t sure he wanted to get wet. Laney helped him out a little bit, but he still wasn’t convinced that it was such a good idea!

Yay summer!

Fairy Garden

I kept seeing these fairy gardens on pinterest and they seemed like the perfect thing for Delaney this summer. So, last weekend when we were making our annual trek to the nursery I picked up some plants to get us started.

We started with a wine barrel planter, then added a birdhouse we had around, added the plants a path and a little pond. Ta Da! A fairy garden.

Complete with fairies!

So far, it’s been a hit! I’m not sure the plants will survive all the “love” they’ve been getting but that’s ok.
