On Friday, Delaney had her Christmas party at preschool and Ryan was able to keep Colton so she and I could have some time together. We ate cookies and made a Gingerbread house. I love seeing her at school with her little friends, so –so fun!

Last Thursday was Delaney’s first ever Christmas program with her preschool class. We were all VERY excited and she had been practicing her songs and Bible verses for weeks! She was a camel, and Grammie and Grandpa and Nina and Papa all made it down to see her!

Up on stage, she did so well- sang all the songs and never had a moment of shyness!
And this little man thought he needed some stage time after his sister was done, he loves to be the center of attention!
And at the end of it all? Cookies, of course!
Needless to say, I loved every minute of it!!
We’ve been having tons of fun with our little elf, Twinkle (ok, truthfully I’ve been having tons of fun). The first thing Laney wants to do in the morning to to find Twinkle- so here are a few of his favorite hiding places so far…

And this morning, he brought the kids presents, Christmas Jammers and Rudolph slippers. (he’s on top of the light, see him?)

He’s also been on a car ride with us and left the kids a Christmas note on our chalkboard (no pictures, sorry)
He’s definitely keeping us on our toes!
Last Sunday Ryan cooked a HUGE turkey so we convince Fran and Jake into coming down and test driving our turkey and seeing the lights at the fairgrounds.
The turkey turned out excellent and the lights were so fun! They have huge draft horses pulling a carriage so for a fee you can ride through and see the lights. It’s so fun to bundle up and go- the little girlies loved it!

The 4th annual Gingerbread House party was last night, this year we stepped up our game with an ugly sweater contest AND trophies for the winners!
I took a picture of each family as they walked in the door, I’m pretty sure that A LOT more effort was put into the ugly sweaters than the Gingerbread Houses!

It was another FUN party- I love this time of year, especially when I get to fill my house up with all the people I love the most! I’m not sure how I ended up with such wonderful fun friends, but I’m dang glad I did!

Look who arrived at our house this morning, Twinkle, our very own Elf on a Shelf. We discovered him this morning and Laney promptly named him Twinkle. He’s one of Santa’s scout elves who report back telling Santa if little boys and girls were naughty or nice and what they want for Christmas.
Delaney’s completely enthralled (so am I for that matter) and we are both looking forward to finding him each morning in a different spot!
Yay for a new Christmas tradition!
This year we spent Thanksgiving at Trina’s. We ate ourselves silly, played dominos, the kids rode the ponies and played. Good times!
Then Saturday was the Apple Cup, and we had a few friends over to BBQ and watch the game. Our Cougs lost this year but we did have a good time cheering them on!
Ryan got his Christmas present early this year, a new BBQ so he cooked us a feast!
Then Sunday my mom watched the kids so that Ryan and I could go Christmas shopping, and spend some kid free time together. We ate a wonderful lunch at Texas Roadhouse and finished up shopping in time to decorate for Christmas and put up our tree. Decorating the tree is my absolute favorite (ok, so is putting up my little nativity, I get two favorites!). This year Laney helped me the entire time and wanted to know the story behind each ornament we hung, which I was happy to tell!
Colton' didn’t really help, but he didn’t break anything either!
Now, most of the work is done, and I can spend the next month enjoying the season with my family!
