The Oregon Coast

Here are some pictures from our vacation to the Oregon Coast. Ryan and I left Saturday evening and made it to Tillamook by midnight, thankfully traveling at night worked and Laney Bug slept the whole way. We spent Sunday in Tillamook, then met up with the Perkins and the Waters in Lincoln City. We had a great time, the boys went crabbing and golfing, and the ladies got pedicures and did some damage at the outlet malls. We had good weather for the beach, Delaney wasn't so sure about the sand the first time, but by the last time we went to the beach she loved it. Good times...

Delaney loved the ice cream, that girl loves to eat- anything- but she thought the Tillamook ice cream was especially yummy.

Walking with Daddy on the beach. At the beach with mom

Here's all of us on the pier after eating dinner at Mo'sAt night Fran and Jessica and I worked on puzzles- We bit off more than we could chew with the last one, we had to stay up until 2 in the morning to finish it.

A Walk on the Beach

The second day we were at the beach Delaney was no longer content to just sit in the sand, she wanted to walk. She obviously had a tough time in the sand but when we got her closer to the water she could go a few steps in the harder sand. She was VERY proud of herself!

Packing

Today I started packing for our trip to the Oregon Coast. We're leaving on Saturday and spending a week with Fran and Jake and Todd and Jessica and their kids. As you can see I've been getting a lot of help from a certain little Laney Bug... It seems like she unpacks as quickly as I pack. It doesn't help that I have a bit of a packing problem either. I'm always concerned that I will forget to pack something I might need so I compensate by packing EVERYTHING. This tendency always results in ridiculous amounts of crap and a lot of grumbling from my husband when he loads the car. I don't travel light, but I'm prepared for everything- including extreme heat, torrential rain, and the possibility of snow. Who cares that I have 18 bags... so I over pack... Don't judge me!

This and That

Delaney's latest trick in to open and unload all of my cupboards, her favorite is the lazy susan but she'll settle for the drawer with all her bibs and kitchen towels. I had Ryan put on some child locks and the morning after he did she tried to open her favorite drawer and when threw a fit when she couldn't get it open! As you can also see from the second picture- Laney has also learned how to wave hello- quite the talented little girl.

The other night Ryan was gone and when he got home in the morning all Laney wanted was to be with her daddy. She just stared at him and then snuggled in for a hug, and then stared at him some more. She's shaping up to be a real daddy's girl!

The Rill Family Reunion

For the 4th of July weekend Ryan's family had a reunion at his aunt's house near Salkum Wa. We had a great time even though the weather was rainy. I ate more pie in two days than I have in the last year and Delaney ate more sugar in a day than shes had in her entire life! Here are some pictures....

As you can see she and her cousin Gracelynn are either attacking each other, holding hands or racing for food! We had a great time and I enjoyed meeting some new members of the family.

The Pitter Patter of Little Feet!

Some of the Laney Bug's first steps ( I apologize for the quality of the video, I had to use our regular camera because I can't get video from our real video camera on the computer, but you get the idea.) She's still crawling to get somewhere fast- but it seems like she makes if farther each day- what a big girl!
