4 Months

Today was Coltons four month well-baby appointment. He weighs 15 lbs 7 ounces, is 25 inches tall and his head is a remarkably normal 16 inches ( as opposed to his sisters at that age). Poor little man had to have four shots which ended in both he and his sister screaming in the doctors office. In the last month he has started rolling over and reaching for and shaking toys. He's a drooling machine so I'm guessing he's working on some teeth. He's a chubby little thing- and I love to see all those rolls !

The Laney Bug

A few conversations we've had lately...

  • At dinner Ryan and I were talking and apparently ignoring Delaney- when she had finally had enough she said, "Daddy, DADDY! You listen to my words?!!

  • We were in the car and Laney was talking my ear off. I got frustrated and said "Okay Laney I get it.." To which she replied, " Mommy, you not talk me like that, you talk nice." I'm pretty sure she even gave me the infamous Schafer finger wag.

  • Last night Ryan asked her to go back to the table to eat her dinner. As she walked back to the table she said, "URG, Daddy, you driving me crazy."

  • Last week we checked out a Dora The Explorer movie from the library, now she wakes up every morning telling me that "Nora is my faborite movie in the whole wide world mommy."

I'm almost sad that I taught her to talk... until she asks me to give her snuggles or tells me that I'm the best mommy eber, eber (ever)

Class Reunion

This weekend Ryan and I went to our ten year class reunion- When did we get to be the old ones?? Friday night we went to Michael Jays and caught up without our kids. Then Saturday we all got together at Pioneer Park for a BBQ, it was so much fun to get to see everyone and their kids!

The group shot- I'm not in it because Laney needed a potty break.

All of us at Michael Jays Friday night.

And the three amigos- Kiley, Amber and I- SO fun to get to see them again!

6 Years

6 years ago today Ryan and I got married, and in total we've been together 10 years ! WOW- when did that all happen? I got pretty lucky with him, and my kids got even luckier (is that a word?). Love you babe!

Rollin' Rollin' Rollin'

Guess who rolled over for the first time today? Notice his little sister "encouraging" him, she was giving him the same command that she gives Angus when she wants him to roll over!

Colton's Baptism

On Sunday we had Colton baptized at Trinity Lutheran here in Hermiston. It was a pretty special day- and we were blessed to be able to celebrate with a lot of family and friends. Colton pretty much slept through the entire thing- not even a peep. Here's some pictures...

Laney, Krae, Gracee and Colton

Our family and Colton's god father my cousin George.

Colton with his God father George- pretty special.

And with his Grammie, I know he's wearing a "dress" but the deal is that my Grandma Margaret made this baptismal gown and it is what my brothers and I wore for our baptisms and it is also what Delaney wore for hers- so he'll just have to get over the fact that it's a dress!

Colton's 3 Month Pictures

He was all smiles today for his pictures... too bad his sister wasn't. Atleast she took a few with him- better than last time!

A Few More Sewing projects

Delaney LOVES Mickey Mouse right now- and any clothing item with any Mickey Mouse character is her absolute favorite. Too bad most of them are trashy, age inappropriate and stupid. So I was glad to reach a compromise when I discovered this Minnie Mouse shirred fabric at Jo Annes. It comes on the bolt already shirred and hemmed all I did was sew it together and add some straps- she loves it. You can also see that she decided to accessorize it herself with some rain boots and a plaid purse.

I made this car seat cover awhile ago and I am in love. You see I have this thing about people (especially strangers) touching my baby. They always seem to touch his hands (which go right in his mouth) and God only knows what those people have been doing with their hands. I have found that this cover (combined with my evil eye) does a good job of keeping those wandering hands away. I used this tutorial but on mine I added some elastic around the back side so that it wasn't always slipping and flying away. Seriously- I can't tell you how handy it is.

And finally these are some blocks I finished for a quilt I'm working on for Delaney... nothing too exciting...
