Movies

I love my daughter, but there are some things I miss since she was born (sleep, a stomach without stretch marks, sleep, perky boobs, sleep.... you get the idea) but I really miss going to the movies. I LOVE movie theatres, the big chairs, the big screen, the sticky floors, the $25 Milk Duds. I don't even need to like the movie we're seeing, I just enjoy the experience. But I haven't been to the theatre since Delaney was born, or a little before because there was a point where I wasn't sure I'd fit into the seats (actually I think the last movie I saw in the theatre was Blades of Glory with Derek and Jodi when they still lived in WA- have I mentioned that we miss you guys?!). I've been trying all week to get to see The Other Boylen Girl ( great book- read it if you like historical fiction) but I can't seem to get a time when my mom can babysit that anyone can go with me (yes this is the point in the conversation where you offer me sympathy and say " if I was there I'd go to a movie with you...). Oh well, maybe there are some $25 Milk Duds in my future when I come home again in April.... Girls- keep your schedules open!

***UPDATE***
Yesterday, Jess, Fran, Bobbie and I went to see the Other Boylen Girl. I got my Milk Duds but the movie was TERRIBLE! The book was A LOT better, but the movie's not even worth renting in my opinion. On the plus side, I got to spend the afternoon with the girls and had a great time.

Delaney's first Easter

Here we all are after church- Laney's dress was very cute, with little lambs on it. Much to our relief she played very quietly through church and even took nap on the way home!

Awww.. how cute!
Each year for Easter my dad's family all come to our house to celebrate- we all eat a lot and then spend the rest of the afternoon shooting trap. So here Ryan and I are celebrating Easter like Schafers. ( There was an upsetting moment, however, when I discovered that I'm not as good of a shot as I previously thought- I hit 4 in a row when my dad was throwing and none when my cousin George was throwing... Then my bubble burst when my dad said "I'll show you how I throw them for Amy" and I realised that all this time my dad had been throwing the pigeon IN THE LINE of my shot... hmm and all this time I thought I was pretty good! )

Girls, Girls, Girls

Delaney- 7 months, Katori- 7 1/2 months, Gracelyn- 5 1/2 months, Kennedy- 7 1/2 months

This past year in the Wieseler family we've had a lot of girls; Ryan's cousin Kelsey had twins, Kennedy and Katori, then a month later we had Delaney, and about 6 weeks later Ryan's sister Fran had Gracelyn. Whew- Christmas in a few years could get crazy! So- Fran, Kelsey and I got all the girls together for a picture... and here they are! ( I would like to note that with all of these babies mine was the ONLY one who cried through most of the photoshoot! She is also always on the end because I had to sit right next to her or she would completely lose it.... hmm... momma's girl?!)
... and the last picture of they day- everyone's mad!

Happy Birthday to me...

Yep- today's my birthday! 26 ( too close to 30 if you ask me!). I wasn't going to post anything, but as discussed below, anything to avoid scrap booking! This is what I plan to do this evening, stuff my face with cake, as you can see not much has changed since my 1st birthday!

Funny Dog

Today I sat down to work on some scrap booking ( and for those of you who are thinking- Oh lucky you, I love to scrapbook- don't. I hate it, today it was either go for a run or scrapbook, really no choice at all- because the only thing I hate more than scrap booking is running, anywhoo..) And our pug Angus decided that it was time for his morning nap... and proceeded to fit his very large butt in a box of my scrap booking materials because, obviously, he is far too good to sleep on the floor like a normal dog.( Anyone keeping track of how many times I can say scrapbook in this post- maybe if I say it enough when I go back to work on it the magical fairies will have done it for me?!)

Good Book

I just finished reading this book and really enjoyed it.
It's just a light, funny read- nothing too serious. The protagonist, Lexie, wakes up from an accident with amnesia. She can't remember that last 4 years of her life, and spends the rest of the novel trying to figure her life out. This is the same author who wrote all the Shopaholic books ( if you haven't- read them- they're great!) I didn't like this one as well as the Shopaholic series but it was still a good read.

Fever Football

Sunday afternoon for Ryan's birthday we all went to lunch and then to Laney's first Fever Football game. She did pretty well with all of the loud noises... as long as she was sitting in my lap... We had a great time!

Delaney with her Auntie Bobbie and her Auntie Fran

Delaney and her cousin Gracelyn ( we couldn't get them both to look at the camera at the same time!)

THANK YOU FRAN

Delaney has always slept well, she slept through the night at 2 months (and I secretly think that it is because the good Lord knew I was NOT a good mommy with no sleep- so he made my kid cranky during the day) but the last week she has been up most of the night. It has been horrible, she is crying and arching her back and running a fever. I think I have come to the conclusion that she's teething but she and I were both at the end of our ropes with no sleep (seriously I was VERY cranky, and she knew it- well everyone knew it.) So I called my sister-in- law Fran to ask advice and she told me to give Laney some infant Motrin, AND SHE SLEPT 6 HOURS IN A ROW last night!!!! I was thrilled ( and no longer feel like the bride of Frankenstein). So- Thanks Fran !

Happy Birthday Ryan!

Today's Ryans birthday- Happy Birthday, Love you!

Delaney's 6 month pictures

A little out of order I know but I had to scan them into the computer so it took some more time. We had these taken at JC Penneys when she was 6 months old, as you can see she wasn't exactly in the best mood, but what can you expect when you have to wait over an hour for her chance in front of the camera!

7 months old

Today Delaney's 7 months old exactly so I thought I'd post some pictures. Ryan has a pediatric rotation in Yakima for the next two weeks and then a week of spring break, so we are in Connell staying with my parents for the next 3 weeks. It so nice to be away from Seattle and let my mom mother me a little! :) Laney has had a VERY difficult time adjusting, she has a severe case of stranger danger and has thrown a fit everytime someone new tries to say hi. My arms hurt because I haven't been able to put her down since Sunday! Hope she gets over that soon- she's making me a little crazy!

Circus baby

This morning we had a repeat performance of Delaney's newfound muscle control ( or lack there of). She began in her bouncy chair like this...

And ended up like this. I can't leave her alone for a second!

TA DA!!

And for todays lesson in parenting: when it comes to baby food, Peas look a lot better going in than they do coming out.

Mishaps in the Wieseler Household

Somehow Laney managed to wiggle under her bouncy seat and couldn't get back out. She also tipped herself out of it this morning, and was hanging upside down still strapped in ( I thought it was too mean to keep her there for a picture).

Last weekend I wore two different flip flops ALL DAY LONG and never noticed. Ryan DID notice but thought that it was just some new style. WOW... we need to get out more!

And finally, this is the scene that we came home to last night after we went out to dinner. That is a hat that I have been working on... I still don't know if it can be salvaged.... anyone want to adopt a dog?
